Editor's Comments: War Bonnet Raceway Park was the location for two rounds of the SCCA Formula Championship.

Grand Prix of Oklahoma 1968

On June 16, 1968,  the SCCA Formula series returned to War Bonnet, with the new F5000 V8s dominating the field. One of the drivers was TV celebrity Dick Smothers. In the photo below, Smothers is interviewed by the  audaciously mustacheod Kirk Hoover. The other driver in the photo is believed to be race winner Lou Sell, Photo by John Barnas.
